Stuart Hibberd, head of O2’s testing team, sets a date for launch of the PLAY on O2.
All the bugs we identified in our testing have now either been fixed or are being worked on and we’re confident that they will be fixed shortly. We’ll be working closely with Sony Ericsson throughout May and if everything goes to plan we’ll be happy to approve the PLAY and put it on sale, both the black version and our exclusive white version.
We’ll be publishing full pricing details very shortly – to register for more information on the PLAY on O2, visit our O2 Xperia PLAY minisite.
Can Stuart Hibberd confirm whether his team is testing the LG Optimus 3D yet?

I can't wait either. That's why after a month of no updates, I bought one of eBay. White, unlocked and cheaper than Amazon's black one.

Does the 'Keep me updated' function work or has it been overloaded? The only way to stay updated seems to be to check the blog and site every day!

I think you need to offer this phone free on a low tariff plan to get customers, as this phone is old hat now and at the speed the mobile phone market moves it is nearly an old model. So many new phones been released or due to be released this phone has been taken over already, if the pricing is too high this is one customer who will be going elsewhere.

Doesn't look like I will be moving to O2 if they take over 2 months to process the LG Optimus 3D after it's release as well... that would mean August at the earliest!

I agree with RHZ. I know the tariffs will be the same as what is on offer currently but the cost of buying the phone on some of the cheaper tariffs will need to be better than competitive for customers to decide to wait for a phone that has been available on other networks for over a month now.

June? im sorry but the service from o2 throughout the "launch" of the play has been awful! There are many people who have already changed networks and i am now doing the same! O2 you have really let everyone down. Goodbye.

Can we have an update as to when in the beginning of June the play will be released. No one seems to know and we are now only 5 days away from the beginning of June with no update. Come on 02 is this the way to go

This phone released 26th May but even though I asked to be kept updated no info was sent. Also to get this phone free the monthly charge is £36 what a joke, how can they ask new phone price for a phone over a month old and now an old mobile in terms of mobile phones. Here is one customer who's had enough of being taken for a ride by O2, good buy O2 I am taking my money and custom elsewhere.
