I'm getting the following message:

Note: In the UK we currently only send SMS notifications to Vodafone subscribers, for terms and conditions click here. If you use another carrier you can still verify your phone and update Twitter, but we won't deliver to your phone.

Tom Leach

Great, could you now just sort out your 3G network coverage please - I actually care about that.

steve123

i can't send the verification code.. do i need credit to do this?

O2

You will need credit to send the text message with the verification code.

Twitter is just pushing live the changes to their website copy to include O2 in the section of setting up devices.

Tat Sol

Please could you include in the above article the following;

'You don't have to use ON/OFF username from the phone, you can also set individual notifications from a person's profile page, or check your following page and manage all phone notification settings there.'

From the 'Noteworthy Facts' section of the aforementioned link in the article. It would avoid a lot of confusion as to where you would do this :)

Thanks;
@Darkened_Sol

Is there any reason I'm getting multiple txts back from Twitter and direct messages I'm sending appearing mulitple times (even if I've ONLY sent 1 txt)?

Dave

Too little too late. We have iPhone apps for this, and after October, we will be able to have our iPhones on other networks thus cutting the crappy O2 out entirely. Perhaps T-Mobile will let us simply upgrade to a 3GS.
